01_Fleeting Notes

Fleeting Notes

  • These notes are fleeting thoughts that I have throughout the day
  • Have max 3 sentences and exist only to remind me of a task or idea
  • Need to be noted down immediately without taking time to organize, sort, or categorize
  • Need to be cleaned up or processed daily
  • Located in 01_Fleeting Notes folder

02_Literature Notes

Literature Notes

  • Are notes from external sources:
    • Books, newspapers, academic documents…
    • Podcasts, videos…
    • Other tools: JIRA, Firefox…
  • Need to be tagged from their source form, with a link attached to that source
  • Need to be kept intact and not allowed to change the original content or add my own thoughts
  • Located in 02_Literature Notes folder

03_Atomic Notes

Atomic Notes

  • Their ideas must be so atomic/condensed that they make sense even outside the context of the Literature Notes they come from
  • Does not include notes that represent a classification of real-world objects/entities
  • Are condensed, extracted, or derived from 01_Fleeting Notes or 02_Literature Notes
  • Located in 03_Atomic Notes folder

Reference Notes

Project Notes

  • These are notes that I publish on the internet as a blog, or send to another individual or organization
  • These notes come from my brain, but unlike other types of notes, project notes are carefully prepared and edited before being published. They are shared on the internet or sent with the clear purpose of the projects that I am working on or interested in.
